Getting set up to teach with Taylor Robinson Music is quick and easy (5-10 min). First, create a professional teacher profile and submit to a criminal background check. Include information about yourself, your teaching style, your availability, and your skills as well as how you would like to be paid. We’ll use this information to make a page for you on our
website and to match you with incoming students who have prepaid for lessons.
Just create a well written, content rich, teacher profile that you’d be happy to show the world. After that, our website and sales team will do the rest. We’ll tell incoming students all the things that make you a great teacher and will show them your profile, bio, pictures, excellent reviews, and background check badge to seal the deal. Once they have prepaid,
we’ll have you call your new student to introduce yourself and confirm the first lesson day and time.
It’s completely free! We do not charge an onboarding fee and only make money when you do. You have 100% control over your schedule and earnings, at all times.
Instructors are paid on the 1st and 16th of each month for any lesson reported complete during that two week pay period. You can select to receive payment via direct deposit, paypal, or paper check. The base pay starts at $20 per hour and goes up for travel and performance bonuses when your students repurchase.
Our average instructor makes $29 per hour.
We cannot predict how many students you will receive or how often. However, if you are responding to an ad for teachers in your area, it means we have more students there than we can currently handle. To get more students quickly, open up your schedule as much as possible, teach in multiple locations (your place, the students place, or online), teach multiple instruments, more genres, more ages, and skill levels. Also, making sure that your profile is well written and complete with pictures and videos will help. Finally, teachers that get good reviews on their profiles, communicate well with our office,
and keep their students coming back get a “student favorite” badge and are pushed to the top of the pack.
You will receive an email and text message letting you know you have a new student with the pertinent information. Just confirm with our office that it’s a match and we’ll send along their contact info next. You’ll then call the student to confirm the first lesson day and time and you are on your way.
You’ll have 48 hours to accept a new student with our office before they will be offered to a different instructor.
You may opt to teach at your location, at the student’s home, or via webcam. If you choose to teach at your location, it must be clean, appropriate for children, and an area dedicated to teaching. Commercial studios
and in-home lesson rooms are ok but bedrooms or kitchens do not qualify.
You are completely in charge of your own curriculum. As a Taylor Robinson Music Instructor, you will have access to a number of useful tools and teaching resources but what, how, when, and where you teach is completely under your control.
As long as your students are happy and keep coming back, we’ll keep sending you more and more.
